I was actually working on what I was supposed to be working on today.. and then got terribly distracted.
And this was the result.
Started as a quick concept sketch, but then I ended up liking it, so I scanned it, slapped some color on it in less than an hour (which is why the coloring is terrible and not very detailed), and decided to throw it up on DA since I haven't submitted anything for a while.
Gah. The hands. *gag* There's something terribly off about them, but then again, that's what I get for not using a reference, right?
This is Obscura, a villain very recently introduced into Ben's WoS rp.
She has two counterparts, Diatra and Triatra which will be drawn eventually, I'm sure. But she's the one I like most. So there.
I'm suddenly more hesitant to beat the crap out of her. Hmm.
I think the reason the hands look a bit off is that the right one looks a little too wide for its length. The only thing of note about the left hand is that Obscura can do that thing where people can bend their thumb way too far back. Otherwise I think the sketch looks great. Eclipse is a lucky supervillain.
and you use photoshop (or whatever you have) unlike anything I've ever seen, I love how you can still keep some of the original sketch in a digital work.

Ah, yes. I think it's mostly born of me failing at forced perspective, thus, things look wonky. And I think you're right about the left hand. The thumb.
I can do that, actually. o_O
And omglol YES. Eclipse is such a pimp.

Thanks! I was trying a bit more of a streamlined style as far as the facial features go. Less detail, more shape.
And thank you!! I'd like to sit here and say it's part of the 'style' I've 'developed' but in all honesty, it's mostly just laziness. I can't be bothered to clean up my lines and I like things all messy, so there you have it.. lol
Thanks again
